The 6 1 5 Featuring Allison Asarch

Raised on powerhouse vocalists like Tina Turner, Shania Twain and Freddie Mercury, Allison began cultivating her own unique sound while attending Otterbein University’s School of Music in Westerville, Ohio. In 2018, Allison moved to Nashville, Tennessee to start chasing her dreams. When the Coronavirus pandemic hit in early 2020, she seized the opportunity to start recording and releasing her own music. Heavily influenced by Taylor Swift, Allison combines country, pop and jazz elements in her songs. In September 2020, she released her first single called Taylor Made. That same month, she appeared on the Netflix Original show “Sing On!” where she took first place and won over $42,000. She followed up with her second single, The One, in November and released Sippin’ on Somethin’ in February of 2021. Her latest single, Summer Style, is now available on all streaming platforms. In her spare time, Allison enjoys fostering dogs, attending Nashville Predators hockey games and sampling craft beers at local breweries.

Allison Asarch's Top Six

What makes Nashville special to you? I LOVE that there is something new to do every day!! At least Pre-Covid…but now that everyone is becoming vaccinated, it’s beginning to look a lot like it was before! Most under-rated thing about Nashville? It might sound cliche coming from an artist, BUT I think live music writer’s rounds! There are SO many to go to and I feel like there are certain venues that just aren’t looked at as a must-see place! My favorite part about writer’s rounds is you truly don’t know who you’re going to hear on that stage! They might be a hit writer from a song you love from the radio OR a new artist and you fall in love with their music and that artist right there! How would you say your hometown of Houston, Texas differs from Nashville? Houston and Nashville have many similarities: amazing food, annoying traffic (haha) and LOTS of transplants (non- Nashvillians or Houstonians). What I love about Nashville is the music scene. There is live music everywhere you turn AND lots of music museums to prove it! Say you had a completely free day in Nashville—no work allowed. What would you be doing? I would start my morning off with a great local breakfast spot to kick start my day! I work at The Pancake Pantry, so I’d probably stop there to get some pancakes :) I’d head over to my favorite boutiques in the area- Rebecca James, Molly Green, and Lizard Thicket. If there was a Nashville sporting event that afternoon or night, I would 100% be in attendance! Lastly, like most nights of going out-on-the-town, I’d end my night at Santa’s Pub karaoking the night away :) What are some of your favorite Nashville restaurants? Oh… where to start….

- For Mexican: El Toro Loco & Nectar in Hermitage and Donelson - Hot Chicken: The OG- Prince’s!!

- Meat & 3: Arnolds & Local Joe’s

- Hot Dog/ Late Night Bite: Daddy’s Dogs- hands down… I am 100% a Daddy’s Girl

Butchertown Hall & Brick Tops are also just two of my favorite restaurants!!

If someone is coming to Nashville for the first time, where do you take them? Broadway ONLY the first night, then the rest of the nights we hit up Midtown and some fun bars in East Nashville. Take them to the murals throughout 12 South, the Gulch and Hillsboro Village. Head over to The Graduate Hotel and take in the magnificent sights of Dolly and atmosphere there. Depending on their ideas for food I play off what they think is the best and end up just taking them to my favorite restaurants :)

One Thing About Nashville

What excites you most about the Nashville music scene right now? The fact that it is coming back to life!!! We all love to support one another as artists and that really inspires me every day to keep going! You’d think everyone would be trying to take your spot, but in reality, everyone wants you to do well! And I love that mentality a lot!

Five Favorites

What’s your favorite place to go for ice cream in Nashville? JENI’S!!! I had them in college in Ohio and now that it's here too is freaking awesome! OH, I highly recommend the Baked Bear!!!! That’s my favorite ice cream flavor hands down.
