Breakout country singer/songwriter Tori Rose has shared behind-the-scenes footage from the creation of her fiery “Your Loss” music video. Check out a special behind-the-scenes look at the making of the “Your Loss” music video below!
“Your Loss” is not your typical heartbreak anthem. Instead of mourning the loss of a relationship, Rose expresses her emotions with a confident twist. A breakup scene kickstarts the music video. Rose then spends the rest of her screen time singing to the camera and reiterating that the breakup wasn’t her loss, but “your loss.”
“The storyline of my new song ‘Your Loss’ is about a breakup, but I really wanted to make the theme of it more about self-empowerment. No matter the situation, breaking up with someone sucks and sometimes you can lose yourself in the process,” said Rose. “That is why I wrote ‘Your Loss.’ To me, it’s the kind of song you can scream your lungs to and remind yourself how much you’re worth.”
The music video premiered exclusively on WSM Radio’s Coffee, Country and Cody. Rose’s playful personality is highlighted in both the music video and the behind-the-scenes footage. Rose walks viewers through her creative process and shows off Nashville-centric filming locations like the Hi-way 50 Drive Theater in Lewisburg and Frothy Monkey in Franklin. The video features inside looks into filming and vlog-style clips of Rose addressing the camera and updating viewers on the video’s progress.
While Rose debuted this year with her vulnerable single “17,” she’s been honing her craft since childhood. At age 12, she played at hometown venues like Pittsburgh’s Hard Rock Cafe and sang the National Anthem at PPG Paints Arena. Now 19, Rose has taken to releasing recorded music that shows off her powerful, twangy vocals and witty lyricism. She is also set to support Trace Adkins at Shipshewana, Indiana’s Blue Gate Theatre on Nov. 8. “Your Loss” is a notable precedent for what listeners can expect from the artist moving forward.
