The 6 1 5 Featuring Amber Ikeman

Nashville-based songstress Amber Ikeman delivers empowering, heart-melting folk/pop. Called “a storyteller who embraces emotional tales” (Jolene: The Country Music Blog), Amber leaves audiences “deeply moved…she tugs at your soul like not many artists can” (Analucia Lopezrevoredo, Moishe House San Francisco). Images from the deserts and mountains she’s hiked or driven through give a living backdrop to her lyrics of resilience, self-discovery, body acceptance, mental health, and women’s issues. By turns gritty and inspired, peaceful and powerful, Amber’s award-winning songs invite fellow free spirits to explore life beyond convention and expectations. She has toured all over the U.S. and Canada, and her third album will be released in early 2023.

Amber Ikeman's Top Six

What makes Nashville special to you? The love of and support for music, in addition to the community of musicians working towards similar goals and encouraging each other.

How would you say your hometown differs from Nashville? I consider Sarasota, FL my hometown. There’s not as much of a music community and there aren’t as many younger people. It’s a little more laid back.

Say you had a completely free day in Nashville—no work allowed. What would you be doing?

Ahh…I’d start by going for a hike either in the Warner Parks or Beaman Park. Then I’d grab lunch at Graze. Later, I’d go to the 12 South Farmers’ Market and buy my favorite granola from Lucy’s Kitchen. I’d have a little picnic with some empanadas from the Chivanada food truck and a Pink Door cookie before heading out to a show in the evening.

What are some of your favorite Nashville restaurants? Graze, Sunflower Cafe, Proper Bagel

Is there a place you haven’t ate you have been dying to go? I’ve been really wanting to try Barcelona Wine Bar!
