The 6 1 5 Featuring Andrea Vasquez

Powerhouse vocals and unstoppable attitude combine in the petite package that is Andrea Vasquez. This country-pop artist has blended her love of modern country and Latin-American roots to create a refreshing sound within the genre. Her debut release Sugar Coat It surpassed 112k streams on Spotify and took Andrea on her first radio tour. From there, Andrea released another single Runnin’ Wild which achieved major success by receiving placement on Spotify’s New Music Nashville Playlist. During the pandemic last year, she continued to give her fans new music by releasing Now I’m Gone followed by an EP, which quickly became a fan favorite. Her latest single Bed You Made is gaining great traction and the official music video was premiered on CMT. With a growing name in Music City, Andrea has played notable venues and shows in Nashville including Whiskey Jam, The Listening Room and more.

Andrea Vasquez's Top Six

What makes Nashville special to you? The sense of community makes this city so special. After the tornado last year, I think it was so beautiful to see how everyone in the city came together to help one another and you see that constantly in the community, just very nice people wanting to help their neighbors. How would you say your hometown of Los Angeles differs from Nashville? Nashville is much "homier" than Los Angeles of course because of the difference in population but Nashville just has this great vibe. The people are so friendly and its something you take for granted until you go back to a big city.

Say you had a completely free day in Nashville—no work allowed. What would you be doing? My favorite is a good self care day. I'd start off by having coffee at one of the many local coffee shops in town (Frothy Monkey and Pinewood Social are two of my favorites) and then treat myself to mani-pedis at Cured Nails, Blowouts at Drybar Nashville and probably brunch it up somewhere afterwards. I'd probably end the day with dinner and drinks at a rooftop bar (there are seriously so many options) and see a show.

What are some of your favorite Nashville restaurants? Butchertown Hall, Burger Up, Desano's, Barcelona

Is there a place you haven't eaten you have been dying to go? I've been dying to check out City House and the Optimist!

Of course we love your style, any favorite Nashville shops? Thanks! I'm a huge fan of Alexis + Bolt for trendy pieces located in Germantown. Also located in Germantown, The Golden Slipper is my favorite spot for unique home decor items and gifts. It's also been a hit with my out of town guests.

If someone is coming to Nashville for the first time, where do you take them? I love taking out of town guests to 12 South because there's so many options to shop and eat around there.

One Thing About Nashville

What one thing that excites you most about the Nashville music scene right now? There are so many refreshing new sounds coming out of the Nashville music scene right now. Pop and indie influences are really changing the game and inspiring Country music especially. I feel that the genre of Country music is especially progressing in such a positive way and making way for more diverse artists in the genre.
