Megan Barker's Top Six
What makes Nashville special to you? For me, it’s being surrounded by music and history. Nashville has so much more to offer than just music and history, but those are the two biggest things for me.
How would you say your hometown differs from Nashville? Well, I spent time growing up in Nashville and Las Vegas. I always say Broadway is like a little Las Vegas. Lots of things happening and lots of people have a good time. But, the difference is all the sweet things about living in the South. The people, the food, the music. That’s all EXTREMELY different from the west coast.
Say you had a completely free day in Nashville—no work allowed. What would you be doing? I love the Franklin area. It’s so beautiful. I don’t live up there so I love to go eat dinner and go shopping on that side of town. It’s special. I’d also love to go catch the Nashville Symphony. They are incredible.
What are some of your favorite Nashville restaurants? Before the pandemic, I spent a lot of time playing and eating at The George Jones. The food is incredible and the music is top-notch. I am also a huge fan of Edley’s BBQ. It’s my favorite in town. If you’re celebrating an occasion, I’d recommend Bourbon Steak. And, if you wanna be a local, go get yourself some BarTaco or Taco Mamacita.
Of course we love your style, any favorite Nashville shops? If you’re in Nashville, you can’t leave without getting some boots. There’s a ton of boot shops down near Broadway and at the Opry Mills mall. Tell them I sent ya!
If someone is coming to Nashville for the first time, where do you take them? Broadway is a must. The Parthenon is a must. LOVE CIRCLE IS AMAZING!! I actually just filmed a music video for my upcoming single there. It’s the most beautiful view of the Nashville skyline. It’s the best place to watch the sunset. There’s also some wonderful historical sites like Rock Castle and The Lotz House.
One Thing About Nashville
What excites you most about the Nashville music scene right now? Women are making a big impact right now. We lacked females a bit on Country radio for a minute, but people are ready for a comeback and we’re here and ready to give it to them!
